By Using the Knoxxi Application (website, mobile, android and IOS apps), documentations and other software, you (“Knoxxian”, “User”, “Business”, “you”, “your”) accept that this Terms of Use alongside our (“Knoxxi”, “we”, “our”, “us”) Privacy Policy and other legal agreements govern your use of this application and activities.

Please read Our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy or any legal documents associated with using this application carefully. To use Knoxxi, you must accept all the Terms of using Knoxxi. If you are representing a Business (“Company”, “Organization”) you must confirm that your Company or Organization is bound by this Terms of Use.

If you or (in the case of representing a Business) disagree in anyway with the Terms outlined of using Knoxxi, you are prohibited from accessing this application, you must not click to accept these Terms of Use. Your continual use of our Services would be deemed as your acceptance of our policies and terms.

Terms Governing Use of the Service

Knoxxi Account Registration

To access any Service or Product in Knoxxi, you or (in the case of a Business representative are required to open an account with Knoxxi (a “Knoxxi Account”, “Personal Account”, “Business Account”) . As stated in our Privacy Policy, we will require information such as your name, phone number, email and other personal information (If you are a Business representative, we would require your Business Name, Contact and other Business information.)

You must always provide accurate, detailed and up-to-date information when registering for Knoxxi. Knoxxi reserves the right to suspend or delete your Knoxxi account if you use your account fraudulently, provide inaccurate and false information or when you do not comply with our registration requirements.

Name

When using the Knoxxi Personal Account, you must use your true and accurate name and in the case of a Knoxxi Business Account, the representative must provide true and accurate details of the Business or Organization when signing up for a Knoxxi Account.

Software

Knoxxi uses Software that enables the best user experience and you are required to install any of such Software that enables Knoxxi’s website and mobile application to function. Knoxxi will be doing software updates and versions upgrades periodically which requires a user the install such changes that may occur in the course of time.

Verification And Review

When your Knoxxi Account has been verified and approved by Knoxxi Admin, Knoxxi may send requests for additional information about your or your business at any time. This is in line with our policy to give you the best service and support you may need in future.

Compatible Devices, Operating Systems and Third Party Carriers

Knoxxi allows you to use compatible devices, operating systems and other third party carriers which guarantee secure transactions. Users are informed of the use of devices that are designed contrary to a device manufacturer’s specifications. The use of incompatible devices, Operating systems and Third party carriers which do not warrant the safety of your account or that of others is highly prohibited. Going contrary to this term of use would result in the blocking or deactivation of a user’s Knoxxi account.

Your Knoxxi Account

Your Knoxxi Account shall only be used for what it is intended to do. Knoxxi shall not be used for any illegal or money laundering activity. You shall not make or accept payments in connection with any activity that flouts the Law of your country.

Cyber laws and restrictions that guarantee the legal use of the internet and applications apply to Knoxxi and you will be held liable for flouting such rules according to the rules of your resident country.

By using Knoxxi, you agree to abide by such rules and will be held responsible for the consequences.

Our Role

We guarantee the best platform that facilitates the safety and best use of Knoxxi. Our Customer and Technical Support Team will always be there to assist you any time. Knoxxi facilitates the tracking and management of payments you make or receive, processes and rewards you for using certain services on Knoxxi. In relation, to these Services on Knoxxi, we will assist you in collecting, analyzing and relaying information that may improve your services.

Law Enforcement

In line with our Privacy policies, we promise to protect and not share information about you or your Business and activities on Knoxxi. However, if we suspect that your Personal or Business Account has been used for criminal and illegal activities that flout the rules, we will share your information and activities with Law enforcement agencies that may require it.

Knoxxi Transactions And Account History

Knoxxi will make available all records of your activities on Knoxxi including payments, debit and credit transactions and payments. You can access these statements and records on your Personal Dashboard any time you need it.

In case there are issues or errors regarding your transactions or transactions records in Knoxxi, you must not hesitate to contact us as soon as you can to settle any issues you may have transacting on Knoxxi or with a Merchant.

Receipts And Invoices

Whenever you make payments on Knoxxi, the system shall generate electronic invoices or receipts which you can print out or email to your personal email address. This will serve as evidence whenever disputes or issues arise. You are therefore responsible for keeping these receipts and invoices and Knoxxi will not be liable for any losses incurred during your transactions on Knoxxi.

Taxes

Transactions that are carried out on Knoxxi may or may not be taxed. In dealing with Businesses or organizations, we do not determine or make Tax calculations on Services provided by those Businesses.

Businesses shall be responsible for Tax deductions, reporting and remitting Taxes to the appropriate Tax Authorities. Only Direct services offered by Knoxxi can be accounted to the Tax Authorities and Tax deductions can be made on such transaction by us.

Customer Service

We shall take responsibility for customer service issues that may occur when you are using your Personal or Business Account in Knoxxi. We will offer Technical support, make reversals, among others to Knoxxi Personal account holders and Business Account .

Business or organizations operating on Knoxxi are separate entities and will be responsible for all Customer support that may be required by a Knoxxi User (“Client”). Businesses are responsible for making their policies clear to a customer and also resolving issues related to the goods and services they provide on Knoxxi. These may include return policies, delivery, pricing, warranty, refunds, adjustments and feedback.

Your Privacy

Your privacy is very important to Knoxxi. Upon acceptance of this Agreement, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted Knoxxi’s Privacy Policy.

Privacy of Others

Knoxxi respects all Users Privacy and would require all users of our Services to do same when interacting or transacting with other users.

Businesses on Knoxxi that receive information about their clients must keep such information confidential and only use it in connection with any Service offered by/ within Knoxxi. Users must not use a client or user’s information for promotional purposes without express consent from a User or Knoxxi, You must not relay information about other users or clients to Third Parties. You must agree to comply to all privacy rules and policies that bind users on Knoxxi.

Your Content

Knoxxi Users are encouraged to post, create or upload information (“User Content”) which includes profile pictures, logos, products, loyalty programs, promotions, advertisements and other materials.

You must obtain permission a content owner before you upload content that does not belong to you.

Knoxxi may use or display your User content in any media to promote our services and by using Knoxxi you grant us and our subsidiaries or partners exclusivity to use, modify, adapt, publish, prepare derivative works, distribute, publicly perform or display your User Content worldwide with or without reference to you.

Subject to these rights given Knoxxi, you retain all rights in your User content and may modify or remove your User Content via your Knoxxi Account or contact Knoxxi to terminate your Knoxxi Account.

By using Knoxxi, you agree to respect the User Content terms and not upload or provide User content that (i.) is false may mislead other users, share obscene, racist, indecent, lustful, pornographic, defamatory, hateful, abusive libelous or inflammatory; (ii.) would be considered to be a criminal offense or infringes the rights of any person or entity which includes publicity, privacy or trademark; (iii.) contains corrupt data or files that can harm Users computers, devices or applications; (iv.) advertise products or services that compete with Knoxxi or partners’ products or service.

We do not take responsibility for any User Content which includes loss or damage and also reserve the right to remove, screen, edit or disable any User Content at any time without informing the User.

Knoxxi Privacy Policy

Why A Privacy Policy?

At Knoxxi (We), we are committed to protecting the information and privacy of our Members (You) who are the core of innovations and services provided by Knoxxi. Therefore these values guide us in the way we collect, use, maintain and disclose information collected from users referred to as Knoxxians (each, a "User") of the application either via the web (Knoxxi.com) and native iOS and Android Apps. This privacy policy applies to the Web and Mobile application and all products and services offered by CoreNett Limited.

Your Acceptance Of These Terms

By using the services and products provided on this site and Mobile Application (iOS and/or Android), you acknowledge your acceptance of this policy and terms of service binding the use of the products and services offered on the Knoxxi platform [Web and Mobile Apps] . If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site and/or Mobile application. Your continued use of the Site and/or Mobile Application following the posting of changes and revisions to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

Knoxxi reserves the sole right and discretion to update this privacy policy at any time as deemed necessary. Anytime we make any changes, Knoxxi would notify its Users of such revisions through the website and/or Mobile Application. . We encourage you to frequently check this page or the general information tab on your mobile application for any revisions and also to stay informed about our best practices to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Personal Identification Information

The personal identification information requested from you (the User) which includes but not limited to your Name, Email address, Phone number, Personal Identification Number (PIN), Banking, Mobile Money (Wallet) and Credit Card details are processed based on Industry standards and International Data Protection practices. The User personal information is required anytime you use our services or resources by registering, performing a transaction including making payments, receiving payments, filling out a form, responding to a survey, updating your profile, participating in a promotion or Loyalty and Rewards program, making a call to us or receiving a call from us and also sending us correspondence. For sensitive data such as Personal Identification Number PIN provided during fulfillment of a services or product on the Knoxxi platform such as Payments, best practice encryption and zero sensitive data storage is enforced.

Non-Personal Identification Information

Knoxxi May collect other non-personal information about you whenever you interact with our site or applications. This information may include your Location, IP address, Operating System, Log-in and logout times, browser type, Device type, Transaction or Search Histories and other details that would help us give you the best user experience.

Web Browser Cookies, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) And GPS Technology

Our site may use "cookies", Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and GPS Technology to enhance user experience on Knoxxi Web and Mobile applications. These technologies may be installed within your devices for record-keeping purposes and sometimes to track information about you and other Users. You may choose to set your web browser or mobile device to refuse cookies, BLE alerts and GPS tracking or to alert you when they are being sent. Please note that if you do so, some parts of the Knoxxi Site and application may not function properly.

How We Use The Information We Collect From You

Knoxxi collects and uses users’ personal information for the following purposes:

  • Personalize user experience:
    We assure you of the best and most relevant experience so we may use you and your friends’ information provided to understand how you use the Resources, Products and Services provided or advertised on Knoxxi individually or as a group. We may also send you content, information and promotions based on your interests, transaction activities, enquiries and user group activity.
  • Process transactions, Collect fees, Make and Receive payments and claims:
    We may use the information you provide about yourself to process and complete transaction requirements during payments, process investments, claims and rewards due you. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to provide it.
  • Periodic communication or correspondence:
    The email address and phone number you provide will only be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your transactions and activities on Knoxxi. It may also be used to respond to your inquiries, send reminders on next payment schedules for Products and Services, and notify you of changes and/or other requests or questions. If you decide to opt-in to our mailing list, you will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related product or service information, etc. If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email or you may contact us via our Site.
  • Customer Support Services:
    Knoxxi may contact you to provide the services and customer support you request and also troubleshoot problems you may encounter while using our applications.
  • Prevent Potentially Prohibited or Illegal Activities such as fraud, money laundering and funding of terrorist activities.
  • Enforce our User Agreement
  • Customize, Measure, and improve our services and the content and layout of our website and mobile applications.
  • Deliver targeted marketing and advertising, service updates, and promotional offers based on the communication preferences you have defined for your Knoxxi account and your activities when using the Knoxxi Services.
  • Compare information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties. This includes complying with legal and sector processes, regulations, enquiries and requirements.

How We protect Your Information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site and/or Mobile Application.

Sensitive and private data exchange between the Site and its Users happens over a Secured Socket Layer (SSL) secured communication channel and is encrypted and protected with digital signatures.

Transaction Information

When you use the Knoxxi services to perform a transaction such as payments for goods and services, transfer funds and do mobile topups, we ask you to provide information related to that transaction, consisting of the amount of the transaction, the type of transaction (purchase of goods, purchase of services, or simple money transfer) and the email address, phone number of the third party. Also, when you transfer funds to another user, you may be asked to provide personal details to that customer to complete the transaction. Those details may also be passed on to us from that customer. We retain this information for each of your transactions through the Knoxxi services and may add this information to your account profile to be used for future transactions that you may make with us. We also collect the Internet address (IP address) and other identifying information about the computer or device you use to access your Knoxxi account or use the Knoxxi Services, in order to help detect possible instances of unauthorized transactions.

Additional Verification

If we cannot verify the information that you provide, or if you request a withdrawal by bank account or mobile wallet other than your verified details we already have, we may ask you to send us additional information by fax or email (such as your valid documents, credit card statement, and/or a recent utility bill, or other information linking you to the applicable account or mobile wallet), or to answer additional questions online to help verify your information.

CoreNett provides the Knoxxi platform and you are therefore required to verify the identity or authenticity of persons/other users you wish to make your beneficiaries or send money to using the platform. We cannot be held responsible or for that matter be made to refund any transaction which turns out to be fraudulent from either the sending or receiving party.

Accessing And Changing Your Information

You can review the personal information you have provided us and make any desired changes to such information, or to the settings for your Knoxxi account, at any time by logging in to your account on the Knoxxi website, selecting My Account, then Profile and changing your preferences. If you want to close your account, you can do that by contacting Knoxxi. If your Knoxxi account is closed, we will mark your account in our database as "Closed", but will keep your account information in our database. This is necessary in order to deter fraud, by ensuring that persons who try to commit fraud will not be able to avoid detection simply by closing their account and opening a new account. However, if you close your account, your personally identifiable information will not be used by us for any further purposes, nor sold or shared with third parties, except as necessary to prevent fraud and assist law enforcement, or as required by law.

Third Party Websites

You may find advertising or other content on our Site that links to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Advertising

Ads appearing on our site may be delivered to you by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement to compile non personal identification information about you or others who use your computer. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy policy does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Phishing

Phishing involves the act if unlawfully accessing a person’s computer without authorization to steal personal details and financial account details. “Phishers” deceive web users to divulge or enter their personal details such as PINs, Credit Card details, Passwords and Usernames. Know would not ask you update, verify or provide such sensitive data over any other URL, website or mobile application. If you receive a message asking for such details, please ignore and report to Knoxxi immediately.

Anti-Money Laundering Policy

Since the website will be used for financial transactional purposes, we reserve the right to close or suspend a user’s account if it’s detected that the user is using the Knoxxi account to sponsor terrorist activities, perform fraudulent transactions or money laundering purposes.

The Knoxxi application is in full compliant with Bank of Ghana’s Anti-Money Laundering 2008 Act 662

Disputes

Should you have any issue with another Knoxxian, Knoxxi, an Agent, a Merchant or Business, a third party or any entity with regards to our policy or using our products or services, you should first contact Knoxxi. Upon your first contact, we ensure we follow up and track to resolve any issues you may have. If we are unable to resolve your complaint, our policy requires you to resort to the flexible Alternative Dispute Resolution or Online Dispute Resolutions procedure which involves a neutral 3rd Party arbitrator than you taking a court action. In resolving disputes, we consider the following principals affordability, effectiveness, accessibility, fairness, transparency, independence and impartiality to ensure the parties involved are adequately catered for and satisfied.

Cancellation, Return & Refund Policy

By accepting this Agreement, the User agrees to submit to any and all cancellations, refunds and returns requirements and actions as depicted in this policy document in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement and the applicable Card Scheme Rules.

This policy applies to Personal and Business users that make and receive payments from other users who fund their Knoxxi Balance Accounts via Visa Credit / Debit cards.

Card Verification – Fraud & Impersonation

By using Knoxxi, you agree to always use authorized Credit/Debit card [Visa] that has been issued to your person by an issuing bank or financial institution authorized by Visa for the issuance. Any attempt to breach this shall result in permanent suspension of your Knoxxi account, and your details shared with the relevant investigative authorities.

Flagged and Refunded Transactions

When you transact, transfer or spend money via a Visa Credit / Debit card, Knoxxi shall proceed with the transaction fulfillment based on Visa Card Scheme Transaction Processing Rules. Any transaction via a Visa Credit / Debit card is subject to various securities and authorized due diligence process.

You agree that you will not hold Knoxxi liable for any damages resulting from these due-diligence procedures that may result in a payment decline or chargeback. Any fraud-claimed, refunded or denied payment will be returned to the right transacting Visa cardholder subject to the terms and procedures of Visa and the Acquiring Bank - Zenith Bank Ghana Limited.

User Liabilities & the actions we might take

  • Your liability. You are responsible for all Reversals, claims, fees, fines, penalties and other liability incurred by Knoxxi, the Financial Institution Partner, other Knoxxi users, or third parties arising from your breach of these Terms or your use of the Knoxxi Services. You agree to reimburse Knoxxi, the Financial Institution Partner, other Knoxxi users, or third parties for any and all such liability
    • Actions we may take. If we determine, in our sole discretion, that you may have breached these Terms, that you or your Account activity present risk or security concerns, or if we are unable to verify your identity, we may take actions to protect Knoxxi and our users, the Financial Institution Partner or Visa Acquirer, or other third parties from Reversals, claims, fines, penalties and any other liability. These actions may include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Suspending your access to your Account and/or the Knoxxi Services;
    • Suspending your access to your funds held in Knoxxi Balance Account for up to 90 days;
    • Taking action as a Transaction reversal to recover amounts that you owe;
    • Closing your Account;
    • Contacting Knoxxi users or third parties who have transacted, sent or received monies from you, contacting your bank and/or Mobile Money Operator, and/or warning other Knoxxi users, law enforcement, or other impacted third parties of your actions;
    • Refusing to provide the Knoxxi Services to you in the future; and
    • Taking legal action against you.
  • Notice of limit or suspension. We will provide you with notice if we take any of the above actions against your Account. If we limit or suspend your Account, we will provide you with notice of our action.
  • Automatic fraud detection. Knoxxi Services employs advanced risk and security assessment algorithms to detect possible and actual fraudulent transactions across Knoxxi Services. Fraudulent transactions are immediately cancelled once detected. To further protect Knoxxi Users, any active transaction associated with the same fraudulent Visa Credit/ Debit card will also be cancelled. Knoxxi Services also actively populates its Blacklist database with information and data about fraudulent users of other systems and platform worldwide and leverages external, cross-industry resources such as worldwide fraud blacklists - to prevent fraudulent users from accessing Knoxxi Services at the outset.
  • Flagged users and transactions. When Knoxxi detects questionable activity related to any transaction, User or 3rd party, Knoxxi will flag the transaction and/or user and automatically create an Investigation Ticket and further to the compliance team. Knoxxi continuously performs User and Transaction reviews with robust fraud detection and anti-money laundering checks to exposure to risk.

Unauthorized transactions and Error resolution.

  • Notify Knoxxi of Account Errors. Contact Knoxxi immediately at compliance@knoxxi.com or +233-33-209-5461 if you think that: (a) your Account has been accessed without your authorization,
  • A transaction that you did not authorize has occurred,
  • A transaction has been processed incorrectly to or from your Account, or
  • Your Account statement contains an error regarding your transaction history (each, an “Error”). If you give someone access to your Account and they conduct transactions without your authorization, these transactions are not considered Errors, unless you are the victim of a phishing attack or similar exploit. We must hear from you within 60 days after we provided the Account statement on which the suspected Error first appeared.
  • How to notify Knoxxi. When you notify us of the suspected Error, please provide:
    • Your name and Account number,
    • The nature of the suspected Error and why you believe it is an Error, and
    • The amount of the suspected Error.

Security

Security is a dogma in the Knoxxi ecosystem. We focus on providing a secure ecosystem that is updated constantly to maintain and go beyond industry security standards and guidelines. The following captures the steps we take to secure our customers' most sensitive information.

  • Using Knoxxi, you share only your unique Knoxxi ID, email or phone number. As an added layer of security, you’re prompted to enter your unique four digits PIN every time you send, deposit, withdraw money or make any major change to your account.
  • Prohibited Data Storage - We never store or transmit financial transaction data like PIN block data, limiting the threat of possible identity theft.
  • Data Encryption - User data is stored using one of the most advanced encryption methods available. We use multiple encryption keys which are stored on different physical servers. A data thief would not be able to make use of information stolen from a database without also having the key. The data store where user data is kept cannot be connected to via the internet.
  • Authentication and Session Management - We require all users to authenticate each time they use Knoxxi and inactive sessions time out after 15 minutes. Passwords are never stored directly in the database, but are salted and hashed using a slow hash function to increase security.
  • Reliability - We have high redundancy onsite and offsite. Onsite data is mirrored on individual servers using RAID and is also hot synced between servers. Data is also encrypted and backed up off site with an undisclosed third party.
  • Disaster Recovery - We have strategic geographically diverse data centers to mitigate risks.
  • Uptime - We maintain 99.98% uptime.
  • Activity Observation - All activity by Knoxxi users or internally by our employees is extensively logged and protected from being tampered with.

In addition to having a Web Application Firewall, we engage in the practice of extensive internal code reviews of all the software we develop.
